Cassis..

This could be the excietment of an amature traveller, naive romantic or a feeling shared by others I see on the street. Cassis, a small village just outside the city, is the most romantic place I have ever been to. The place is just out of a picture post card. Small brick layered streets, small houses with colorful windows decorated with flowers. Although the weather was grey with clouds ,the colors of the houses- yellow, red ,blue, pink- were unmistakable. And the deep blue sea made the picture complete. Just kind a place where I would want to a buy a house and go fishing, if i were a millioaire. For the moment, I just plan to take a bus to the place and pray the weather is good.

The white hills covered with small pine trees are part of the Calanque, white hill cliffs that go in the sea, have small treking trails. I make up my mind to come back here to explore more. Beyond the small hill towering over us there are huge vineyards famous for its "Vin Blanc"(White wine). yup! wine tasting - its on mind too. I admit I am not a conn0issuer and I wont be able to differentiate my left to right before I could differentiate between red to white wine.Hick! But common!! this is France!!and I could be a good actor.

The town is clean and and attractive souvenir shops are all over, probably for the tourits like me.No probably not me, some with little bit more money. I saw a heart shaped chocolate flavored "Savon"(soap) !! For all my surprises I say common - This is France!

I wonder if this place becomes crowded it will lose the small town charm. While i think I spot two HOGS. Brand new shiny burly Harley Davidson with an equally burly owners in equally shiny black leather jackets. Of all the places in the world I never thought I would see my first Hog in a place like this.

While we drive back in the rain, and the small streets merge in to big highways, I tell my self aloud - I ll come back to this place.

until then, stay pretty!
